I have been told that this web site is unfair to the business of Ottawa. My Answer

Lets look at Ottawa Ford. Vs V's Auto Mall. V's was just fined for parking two vehicles on the Logan street Right Of Way. However Ottawa Ford the very next week had Eight, yes that's 8 vehicles parked in the grass in the K68 Right of Way. And I might add just down the street from the Ottawa Police Department, very high visibility. And I doubt V's has ten cars total. Definitely not the good taxable income with V's that Ottawa Ford is for the city.
There's a monument company on the corner across from Ford, always has outside storage, and old material laying out. Just north of there is an in-operable ladder truck for a local tree company.
Down behind the main street businesses are, in-operable vehicles, tractors, appliances and general junk.
If you check out East between main street and I35, there are several places in side of the city limits that are always sporting over 12 inches of grass, All visible by just driving down the street and looking.
The local welding company on East 68 stores acetylene and oxygen bottles out front, many outside of a cage.
The old Trailer lot has old House trailers, and junk. Why are they allow to keep this junk?
If you go to South Main. you will find car repair shops with their own car lot or salvage yards in the back.

You forgot to mention the meth heads that steal and molest. Very true about Ottawa, they are very gross. My ex boyfriend is from there and the looser has moved back. Keep up the good work.

To whom it may concern: Yes, that is what some areas of Ottawa look like. Ottawa is a very small poor town. If you would put in as much effort to help clean up the town as you did in putting together the web site and gathering photo’s there might be a few less garbage dumps in the town. This website of yours is ridiculous. If you don't like living in Ottawa, Kansas, then move. Nobody has probably ever told you you have to live there. Just move, leave this town alone. This is my hometown and I like it just fine. Sounds like you are just disgruntled about something that the city has done to you. Well, too bad. Life goes on, be happy you have a place to live. There are many people who don't have a place to call home. Worry about yourself, not everyone else. Get over it.

You say this website is ridiculous, Well it's my freedom of speech, protected by the constitution. it's the right of everyone, no the duty of everyone to bring to light the problems with the local government and the un-equal treatment they provide,

Maybe you should take the time to look around, Maybe you should look at some of the inadequate jobs the city employees do. maybe you should look at the new school that was shoved down the throats of the people using excessive scare tactics, and in my opinion was a paid off investigator. You want to see the good and ignor the bad, You want everything your way, And as far as the photos, They were turned in to the city and they were ignored, You only have to look at who is friends with who to see what properties get cleaned up and what properties get ignored. If you scratch their back they scratch yours, The good ol boys agreements. Any small business that might make a competitor for any existing business is literally driven out of business. So get off you pompus high horse and look around and stop turning a blind eye to what is going on.

I think your web-site is very well needed and long over due. This town is just getting absolutly ridiculous to live in. I have lived here all my life. I love this town and have no desire to live anywhere else. But this old town is changing fast and not for the better. There are to many people who are sitting out to make us a miniture Kansas City or Lawrence. The Johnson Co. people move down here and then they decide they want things just like they had in good ole JCo. and next thing you know buildings are condemned and we are paying for brand new schools we didn't need. My personal opinion on that whole middle school deal is this-people should demand an investigation into that. I always will say there was fraud involved. If they find fraud then everyone who was sitting on the school board at that time should be held accountable.
And don't even get me starting on tearing down the hospital because of spiders. That pretty much made us the laughing stock of eastern Kansas. As far as the nuisince ordinance-yes it is unfairly inforced-I turned in a health hazard next door to me one time-an unfenced swimmimg pool that hadn't been maintained in anyway shape or form for over a year-you could see the mosquitoes rising off the thing. The property was tied up in forclosure-therefore one of the banks owned it. Do you think they did anything about it? Hell no. There not going to go against a bank. But sure as hell when they came out to inspect that property-they gave me a nice letter about some lumber I had sitting by my garage. My lumber was cleaned up the next week-it took another YEAR AND A HALF for that pool to get anything done with it!!
Keep up the good work! This town needs more of this kind of thing-despite what the powers that be might think.
